New builds keep Baltic Dry Index suppressed

Shipping rates for transporting dry bulk minerals climbed slightly this week on low iron ore inventories, but an influx of new vessels still weighed on the market. The Baltic Dry Index (BDI) was 731 on 15 February compared with 676 on 8 February.
